Peru Lima 3: Paraiso Lagoon and Lomas de Lachay

This entire day we will explore the Laguna Paraíso and Lomas de Lachay, these two ecosystems placed at 100 Km north of Lima.

In this beautiful trip we will be able to observe shorebirds and associated to marine ecosystem in Lomas de Lachay also we will find endemic birds.

Day 1. Lagunas Paraiso y Lomas de Lachay

We departure from Lima early in the morning and take the Panamericana Norte Highway, breakfast on the road.

Laguna Paraiso is a marine source lake which together with the irrigation water of Santa Rosa give rise to this beautiful mirror of water where several associated bird live together on the banks, here we can find species like Egrets, Plovers, sandpipers and many Larus among other families, many Flamingos also live here.

Lomas de Lachay is a group of hills covered by the fog coming from the Pacific Ocean, it moistens the dessert and hills giving rise to the extraordinary vegetation. On these hills we can find the endemics Cactus Canastero, Thick-billed Miner and many birds of pray. (B,PL)
